We offer an extensive range of in-house science workshops designed to integrate key STEM concepts including space science, mathematics, technology, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Our workshops are tailored to meet the specific interests and needs of school groups and homeschool groups, providing engaging and hands-on activities for students of all ages.

Each workshop is adaptable to a wide range of age groups and grade levels, ensuring that students receive an educational experience that is both age-appropriate and challenging. Whether your group is looking to delve into the basics of physical science or explore advanced engineering concepts, our workshops provide an exciting and enriching learning environment.


Workshop Details

Duration: Each workshop lasts 2 1/2 hours.

Cost: $525 per class.

Capacity: Limited to 32 students per workshop to ensure a personalized and interactive experience.

Location Flexibility: Workshops can be conducted at the Challenger Learning Center or on location at your school or facility for an additional cost.

Ice Cream Matters

Grades: K-2nd

A delightful exploration of states of matter, where students make their own ice cream while learning about the scientific principles food scientists use every day.

Astronomy

Grades: K-8th

An expansive look at the universe, covering everything from the Aurora Borealis to distant galaxies, with an optional StarLab planetarium add-on for an immersive stargazing experience.

StarLab Planetarium

Grades: K-8th

Experience the wonders of the cosmos with our StarLab Planetarium, a portable dome that guides students through the Milky Way Galaxy, solar system, various constellations, and the unique starfield visible from Alaska. Often added into the Astronomy workshop.

Living in Space

Grades: 2nd-8th

A dynamic workshop where students build and launch their own rockets, applying Newton’s Laws of Motion in practical experiments.

Rocketry

Grades: 2nd-8th

A dynamic workshop where students build and launch their own rockets, applying Newton’s Laws of Motion in practical experiments.

Simple Machines

Grades: 3rd-5th grade

A hands-on workshop where students design and build simple and compound machines, culminating in a team challenge to construct a working catapult.

Robotics

Grades: 3rd-6th grade

Students dive into the world of robotics, exploring its history, current applications, and future potential, then design and test robots to complete specific tasks.

Thermal Engineering

Grades: 4th-12th

Students engage in the engineering design process to create thermal protection systems for model spacecraft, tackling real-world problems similar to those faced by NASA engineers.

Light and Energy

Grades: 4th-8th grade

Students build their own spectroscopes and explore the properties of light and energy, learning how scientists use light to study the universe.
